Who's your Pole Idol?

Even though the International Pole Championships (IPC) is still months away, you only have till December 15 to vote for your Pole Idol.

The winner of Pole Idol is based on the the semi-finalist who receives the most votes, which entitles them to granted entry to the Grand Finals, flights paid for, and the honour of being next years' face of the IPC.

Pole Idol may appear to be a simple popularity contest with the big names in pole like Oona, Rafaela, and Zoraya, dominating the competition, however that's not necessarily so. The winner of Pole Idol so far looks to be the semi-finalist with the biggest fan base outside of the mainstream pole community. So don't just sit there and think that the competition has already been won, vote for your pole idol (and steal your friends and family's email addresses...I didn't say that...), because it looks like this years' winner is the semi-finalist who hasn't just assumed that their existing popularity and advertising on Facebook, will put them through.

Pole Reflections 2011

If you had the opportunity to show the world what pole meant to you, what would you do?

On July 30th 2011, the world's best Chinese pole acrobats, pole dancers, and pole performers will be coming to Sydney for a one night only international showcase to show you exactly what pole means to them.

Pole Reflections is the first of its kind where performers from all pole disciplines will come together to show the world what the art and skill of pole can be. This is a rare opportunity that cannot be missed by any pole devotee, or even pole cynic.

The lineup is incredible. Never would I have thought it possible to see pole artists of such a high caliber perform without needing to travel the world; this event truly cannot be missed. Not only will you be able to see world champions of tradition pole demonstrate their unique styles and tricks including Chelle Hafner, Rafaela Montanro and Zoraya Judd, but you'll also be able to see the worlds best in Chinese pole including Joao Paulo Santos, Adam Davies and Remi Martin.

As part of Pole Reflections, the performers are also hosting workshops over the weekend where you'll be able to learn your favourite performer signature moves. So if you always wanted to learn how to transition circus pole tricks to traditional pole, this is your opportunity to learn from Duncan West, the Ultimate Pole Dance Champion of the World 2010.
